The Level of Ridiculousness in this Video

Gawker posted an article entitled "Watch Google Describe How it Can Exploit Your Name". If you've been following along, you probably won't be surprised by anything that Eric Schmidt says in the video except perhaps this:

The internet would be better if we had an accurate notion that you were a real person as opposed to a dog....

I haven't known any dogs who use the internet. Apparently, I am not giving my dog everything she needs. I must run out right now to buy her a computer so that she can set up her own Twitter, Gmail, and Google+ accounts.

(Seriously, the level of temptation to set up these accounts for her is so very high right now. I need someone to stop me - or encourage me to be even more outrageous. I haven't decided which yet.)

I do know a couple of pets with lj accounts, but they assure me that their humans do all the typing.

My chickens have two email accounts, a DW and a Twitter. Not that they use any of them much - they're too busy hunting and pecking in the chookrun to be bothered doing it on a keyboard.

Anyway, I assume he's riffing off the whole "On the internet, nobody knows you're a dog" thing.
