Better than Facebook?

googleplusAs a non-FB user who is nonetheless thinking of moving into more real-life connectivity, does anyone know enough yet about G+ to compare it with Facebook? Obviously, FB has all these millions of users to connect with (and games and suchlike) which G+ wouldn't at first, but other than that? Does it seem safer, give me more control over my data, anything like that?
